When we got there it was a case of find our tgv to Bordeaux which was probably the fanciest train I've ever been on, me only being used to darts!
Anyway when we arrived in Bordeaux, its what you imagine a typical French town to look like, all aged stone buildings and little cafes.
We hadn't any hotel booked so the search was on to find somewhere. We went to about four different places who all said there was no room until we came to one, that had space but the receptionist's reply was "yes we have a room, but it's quite old", it looked like it would have fit in in studio 54, but it was that or sleeping on the streets so I didn't care.

The picture is the view from the window and the second is the central square in Bordeaux, where everyone seems to accumulate at night.
There was a huge wine and food fare while we were there so there was kind of a carnival atmosphere about the place. This carousel was in front of one of the areas.

There was also a full orchestra one of the nights performing beside La Garonne river in a big square.

We didn't go to the vineyards because it was too expensive for the tours and you needed a car to do it yourself but we will go to the ones in Provence.
We did go to Bordeaux Musee de Beaux Arts and Patrick made a new friend:
